Cyprus has confirmed Bulgarian workers will continue to be favored for work on the island after the Balkan country entered the EU.

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin met Monday with his Cypriot counterpart Yiorgos Lillikas in Sofia.

The two diplomats conferred on the opportunities for their citizens to work and receive health insurance and social security in the other country.

Cyprus is among the leading foreign investors in Bulgaria with more than USD 700 M investments already made here.
