EU's Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou will call for a ban on smoking in public places throughout the Union.
Kyprianou will table a paper for discussion on Tuesday, suggesting that such a ban be introduced in all EU country members.
Ireland became the first country in the world to forbid smoking in public places in 2004. Since then Italy, Sweden and Scotland have joined the ban. Bulgaria's laws state that each bar and restaurant should separate the smokers' area from that of the non-smokers. Still, many joints in the country don't exactly follow the law to the letter.
