The bloc of Europe's extreme right parties is suffering internal rifts over a Bulgarian member's anti-Semitic views, reports say.
UK independent MEP Ashley Mote, the only British member of Identity, Tradition and Sovereignty, has criticised remarks by 23-year-old Bulgarian member Dimitar Stoyanov after he accused the "Jewish establishment" of using the media to exploit people, TotallyJewish.com reported.
Stoyanov has been quoted as saying, "There are a lot of powerful Jews, with a lot of money, who are paying the media to form the social awareness of people. They are also playing with economic crises in countries like Bulgaria and getting rich."
Stoyanov has refused to retract the comments.
The disagreement on the far right could damage the fledgling group because rival MEPs are seeking to strip it of its right to exist as a formal grouping because it fails to produce a clear programme.
