Online trading is gaining more and more speed and it is expected to see a real boom in services of this kind, according to EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva.

She opened Saturday a round table discussing the issues of consumer protection.

In the words of commissioner Kuneva online services and trading are subject to insufficient control, which hurts the effective protection of consumers.

She announced that in 2007 Bulgaria and Romania will open the so-called European Desks to provide detailed consumers information.

Taking on her first visit on the post of European Commissioner, Meglena Kuneva introduced in Sofia her team comprising two Bulgarians - Zivka Staneva and Yaroslav Golev.

Dr John Bell from Ireland heads Kuneva's cabinet. Helen Kearns was appointed spokesperson of Bulgaria's first EU Commissioner.
