Irishman Heads EU Commissioner Kuneva's Cabinet

An Irishman, health strategic analyst was appointed the closest aid of new EU Commissioner for Consumers Protection Meglena Kuneva.

Dr John Bell will head Kuneva's cabinet and act as her deputy during meetings of the commissioners' body.

In 2005 Bell was Head of Strategy & Analysis in the Directorate-General Health & Consumer Protection (SANCO) of the European Commission.

Bulgarian members of Meglena Kuneva's cabinet will be Zivka Staneva and Yaroslav Golev.

Helen Kearns will be the spokeswoman of Bulgaria's EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva.

The EU commissioners could have seven members in their team but they need to represent at least three different nationalities. The spokesperson may not have the same nationality as the commissioner.
