Five Bulgarian parties are expected to make their way to the European Parliament later this year following a vote that will hardly quicken the pulse of the electorate, pollsters say.

"The Bulgarian Socialist Party, GERB, the freshly minted formation, led by Sofia mayor, ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms, nationalist Attack and the right-wing Union of Democratic Forces will be represented at the European Parliament," Yurij Aslanov said.

He joined a discussion on the local legislation for MEP election, which is yet to be definitely adopted by the parliament.

The elections for MEP will be the parties' litmus for the local vote, the experts commented.

Bulgaria now has 18 MEPs, who will serve until the country holds elections in May this year.
