The EU Commission announced that Patricia Bugnot, already a civil servant of the institution, will run the team of Leonard Orban.

A former employee of the EU Parliament, Johann Richter, is the deputy head of the team.

The Commissioner for multilingualism Leonard Orban, appointed by Romania, is therefore going to work in close touch with a French and a German, which confirms the rumors according to which the big EU countries put the pressure on him to place their nationals in key positions.

The commissioner has not yet chosen the Romanian members of the team or the national press officer, unlike his Bulgarian colleague Meglena Kuneva.

Helen Kearns would be the spokeswoman of the Bulgarian EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva and Pietro Petrucci stays as spokesman for Leonard Orban.

Meglena Kuneva will summon to Brussels Yaroslav Golev, the head of her cabinet while she was a Bulgarian minister for EU affairs. Thus is the first national confirmed in her new commissioner's job.

The EU commissioners could have seven members in their team but they need to represent at least three different nationalities. The spokesperson may not have the same nationality as the commissioner.
