Bulgaria's Drivers-To-Be to Pay Double for Tests

Politics » BULGARIA IN EU | January 4, 2007, Thursday // 00:00

The cost for taking the driving licence test in Bulgaria will increase twice.

Drivers-to-be will have to pay BGN 10 for the practical and another BGN 10 for the theoretical part. The number of driving classes goes up from 24 to 30. The driving instructor can hold 4 extra classes but not more than that in order for violations to be avoided.

The driving-test sheets are being translated in English at the moment in order to make the exam accessible for foreigners residing in Bulgaria.

Despite the increase of the cost of the driving tests in Bulgaria, it still remains lowest within the EU.

The Bulgarian driving licences are in force in the territory of each EU member state. The driving licence problems Bulgarians have faced recently while crossing the borders will be dealt away with by 2 or 3 days, the Transport Ministry promised.
