Bishops of Bulgaria's Holy Synod held Monday a mass at the St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral to read a prayer for the New Year.

The mass was for health and well being of the Bulgarian people in the new 2007 and was also connected with the country's EU accession.

The ceremony was attended by former prime minister and king Simeon Saxe-Coburg and his wife, MPs and diplomats.
