The project to popularise Bulgaria in Germany has reached its final stage.
Bulgarian artist Luyben Kostov' project "Message Bulgaria" was finished on Saturday in front of the building of the Bulgarian Embassy in Berlin.
On the eve of Bulgaria's EU accession Kostov has decided to spread the eight letters b, u, l, g, a, r, i and a forming "Bulgaria" on the sidewalks. The letters, which are 2,20 metres high and 1,50 metres wide, have been illuminated to attract attention. On the sides of the letters there are slots, from where everyone may take a postcard with pictures of 20 of Bulgaria's cultural, historical and nature landmarks.
On Sunday the letters were placed together in front of the embassy to write out "Bulgaria".
The project is part of the working program 2006 of the Communication Strategy for Bulgaria and Romania's EU accession. It is also dedicated to Germany's EU presidency of the European Union.
The goal of this project is to make Bulgaria popular and to strengthen its position on the international political scene as a country rich in nature landmarks and cultural heritage.
