Romanian Press: Orban should be Proud He Got 12 More Votes than Kuneva

The central Romanian newspapers say their EU Commissioner Leonard Orban (multilingualism) should be proud he got 12 votes more than Bulgaria's candidate Meglena Kuneva (consumer protection).

The European parliament approved Tuesday Bulgaria's and Romania's EU Commissioner designates - Meglena Kuneva and Leonard Orban with 583 votes and respectively 595 from a total of 640 votes.

Orban and Kuneva are expected to assume office on January, 1 2007.
