Bulgaria and Romania are throwing a big celebration in Brussels on December 14 to mark their EU accession.
The European Commission announced they will contribute to the event with their own party in honour of the two countries, fixed for the same day.
On December 14 will be started also the initiative "Longest human chain in the world", which is also in honour of Bulgaria and Romania's upcoming accession. The idea, with the assistance of MTV, is to ask people to upload their picture with arms spread to the site www.MTVHumanChain.com in the next three months. Put one after another, the pictures will create the impression that all people stay hand in hand.
Commissioner for Enlargement Olli Rehn will officially open the festivities in Brussels.
One of the surprises will be Christmas bread, representing the map of united Europe to which symbolically will be added the maps of Bulgaria and Romania.
Bulgarian band "Te" and Romanians "System" will also be part of the celebrations. The two bands will sing after all the other events.
The festivities will start at 11 a.m. Brussels time in front of St. Magdalena church.
