Bulgaria's Alexander Nevski Cathedral has started shining anew, after a lighting renovation.

A total of fifteen new spotlights are now focused on the cathedral, located in downtown Sofia.

The BGN 60,000 investment in the new lighting scheme that promises to save taxpayers some cash was donated by Czech company Eltodo as a special gift to Sofia Municipality.

A second leg of the renovation will make the golden domes of the country's biggest cathedral shine even brighter.
