Couple Plans Wedding on Ice

A New Zealand couple's hot idea for a cool wedding - tying the knot on an iceberg - has been put on ice.

Bridget Byers and Donald Wyatt from New Zealand plan to marry on one of the icebergs floating off the coast of the South Island, local media informed.

But helicopter pilot Richard Hayes says plans are on hold. He says the icebergs are constantly shedding ice, and it is difficult to find a safe place on which to land the couple and a marriage celebrant.

New Zealand law requires people to be within 12 nautical miles of the coast to be married legally. The closest iceberg has been at least twice that distance from the coast.
