Bulgaria can offer a lot to the European Union, which "needs fresh air", according to the speaker of Danish Parliament.
Christian Mejdahl addressed the Bulgarian lawmakers on Wednesday after meeting with the parliamentary commission on European integration.
His visit came along with the ratification of Bulgaria's EU Accession Treaty in the Danish Parliament, approved with a convincing majority.
With the vote on Tuesday Denmark lined with the rest of EU member states with ratification of the key accord to let Sofia and Bucharest into the bloc as full-fledged members.
Also the country has not decided yet whether to close its labour market for workers from newcomers Bulgaria and Romania.
Legally, current member states can apply restrictions for up to seven years to workers from central and Eastern Europe.
