EC Spends EUR 17 M on Bulgaria, Macedonia Transborder Co-op

The European Commission will grant EUR 17 M for transborder cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania, Darik News reported.

The north Bulgarian regions of Blagoevgrad and Kyustendil and the Macedonian borderline towns will get funding for cooperation for the period 2007-2013. The funding will be for the tourism, human resources and culture areas.

The information was announced at the meeting of the program committee for preparation of an operating project for transborder cooperation.

Representatives of the Regional Policy Directorate-General of the European Commission attended the meeting together with representatives of the Delegation of the EC for Bulgaria and Macedonia.
