The Democrats for Strong Bulgaria have decided to replace their observer to the European Parliament, despite reports Dimitar Abadzhiev may stay as an independent.
MP Konstantin Dimitrov will leave for Strasbourg, the diehard rightists decided at a meeting on Tuesday.
In the beginning of November Dimitar Abadzhiev announced his decision to quit the diehard party ranks of former Prime Minister Ivan Kostov, disagreeing with the official line during the presidential vote.
Bulgaria, which is to join the bloc of 25 nations, has 18 MPs delegated as observers to the EU's legislature.
Unlike previous political splinters in Bulgarian Parliament, as a result of which a couple of MPs preserved their observers' status to the EU's legislature, Abadzhiev is the first Bulgarian replacement.
