Russia's gas monopoly Gazprom is seeking to more than double gas prices for Georgia next year. A company official said Gazprom planned to charge Georgia USD 230 per 1,000 cubic metres, up from the current price of USD 110, DW reported. The proposal came as Georgia's Foreign Minister was in Moscow for the first high-level talks with Russian officials since bilateral relations soured in September. Tensions have run high since Georgia expelled four Russian military officers for alleged spying activities. Moscow responded by imposing a number of sanctions on Georgia.
