Miss France, Alexandra Rosenfeld, has won the Miss Europe 2006 title in hot rivalry held in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Blonde Rosenfeld, aged 19, comes from the southern Languedoc region. She was chosen by an international jury headed by Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli.

Her beauty title comes along with a EUR 100,000 purse and a diamond-studded crown made by Chopard estimated at EUR 350,000.

The 1.73m French gal was trailed by Miss Ukraine, Miss Spain, Miss Poland and Miss Belarus. In all 34 beauty queens had joined the contest, including Miss Bulgaria-Europe Mariela Mumdzhieva.

The crown reminded France of 1948, when the first Miss Europe - Jacqueline Dony - was also French.
