Spaniard Rafael Arias opened an exhibition of his works in Sofia, amazing everyone with intrinsic paintings and a feel for combining colors, especially given the fact that he has completely lost his vision.

Proving that one doesn't need to see in order to feel and create beauty Arias continued to give an outlet to his passion for art despite the fact that he went to the painful process of losing an artist's most important tool.

Organized by the Bulgarian Union of the Blind, with the help of the Culture Ministry and the Spanish Embassy, the exhibition is yet another step in an ongoing campaign for changing the way Bulgarians see people with disabilities.

"The message I want to convey with my art is, that we often can do more than we may feel ourselves capable of," Arias explains. "I believe that nothing is impossible and it is my wish that my paintings reflect that."

The artist will hold a workshop with visually impaired people in Bulgaria.
