Floods Sweep Through Norhtern Greece

Greece announced state of emergency in the Thessaloniki region as floods swept through the north part of the country, Darik News reported. The intense downpour deluged hundreds of buildings during the weekend. Roads and farms suffered heavy damages. The evacuation of the citizens continues. The situation goes back to normal and people are receiving the needed aid, officials from the Civil Defence Secretariate said. EUR 300 000 will be granted to every municipality to cover the damages from the floods.
