The northern Black Sea town of Kavarna has given the start to the traditional Shellfish and Seafood Fest luring hundreds of fans of seafood.

Guests and citizens of the small town, which gained world-wide popularity as the "rock capital" of Bulgaria, had the chance to see culinary skills demonstrated by three mayors from different parts of the country.

Tsonko Tsonev of Kavarna, Ivan Tsenov of Vidin and Stelian Varsanov of Peshtera grilled herring, fried sheatfish and pan-fried a mountainous carp.

A special guest to the fest was Russian megastar Filip Kirkorov, who is of Bulgarian origin. Additionally W.A.S.P., Chris Tofield and Serbia's Riblja Corba will entertain the fest's participants.
