Pope Benedict XVI has been celebrating an outdoor Mass in his southern German homeland of Bavaria. Pope Benedict XVI was met in the southern German city of Munich by cheering crowds greeted with words of deep emotion as the pontiff came back to his Bavarian homeland. Pope Benedict arrived in the Bavarian capital of Munich on Saturday to a rapturous welcome by cheering crowds waving Vatican and Bavarian flags. The 79-year-old pontiff drove into the centre of town in his white "papamobile", Deutsche Welle reported. The pontiff will also see his brother, retired priest Georg Ratzinger, and together they will go to the graves of their parents and sister.
