Hepatitis Creeps to Non-Roma Bulgarians

Bulgaria's second largest city is seeing a hepatitis epidemic spreading out from Roma districts to the rest of the population, Darik News revealed on Monday.

New cases have been registered in Sheker Mahala, and in worst-hit Stolipinovo the number of patients has increased by 24, reaching 337 in total.

The families of the vectors and other who have been in contact with infected people haven't been taking the necessary precautionary measures, medics say.

That has apparently transmitted the virus to areas with good hygiene, the experts say.
