Bulgarian Forgets Mother-in-Law at German Parking Lot

A Bulgarian family panicked the police in Leipzig as they forgot their mother-in-law on a parking lot in the area and only realized it later, when the woman had reported them kidnapped.

The family, who live in Switzerland, were travelling back from a trip to Bulgaria and stopped by a German gas station, where the elderly lady went to warm some milk for the kids. The absent-minded driver took off without waiting for his mother-in-law, and the woman thought they had been kidnapped when she stepped out in the parking lot, 24 Hours daily reports.

Not too fluent in German, the frightened lady somehow explained local police officers that her "kids" had been kidnapped, and the whole department was immediately brought to high alert at the news of the abduction of children.

In the meantime the driver and his wife realized that the usual noise coming from the back seat was missing, because they had forgotten their talkative relative. They drove to Leipzig and alerted the police that they had left a family member at the gas station.

After a while the police realized that the two cases considered the same family and called off the special units that were looking for the abducted children. The officer that reunited them again said that he wished he could have understood what the lady told her son-in-law, as she seemed very angry.
