Bulgaria's furthest east lighthouse is celebrating 150 years on guard this week.

The anniversary to kick off in the town of Shabla, which is the furthest east point of Bulgaria, on Thursday will focus all the events marking the traditional Sea Week.

The 32-meter lighthouse on Shabla Peak is the oldest navigational facility on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria.

Once seamen eyed through the darkness to see the Shabla lighthouse and then they knew they have gone halfway between Danube's mouth and the Bosphorus.
