Bulgaria Exposes Rare Double-Edged Sword

A rare sword from the Antiquity or Middle Ages has been unearthed by Bulgaria's Kaliakra, media reported Tuesday.

Archeologists have said that two tombs were also found at the site, a dwarf buried in one of those. The remains of the 11-sentimeter tall man showed a deadly wound in the head.

Boni Petrunova, who heads the team, has said the metal sword was the most intriguing discovery brought to light at the spot.

A piece of arms like that is a symbol of power, Petrunova believes.

The fact that the sword had to be abandoned at the side has led the experts to the assumption that Kaliakra has witnessed some tragic event.
