Name Game

by Petya Bondokova

Most people make fun of those with peculiar names - like Jesus, Christ, Apolon, Dionis, Zorro...Why is that? It makes meeting people so much more exciting and interesting, than hearing the same traditional stuff all the time. Plus, that is also the hottest Hollywood trend. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have their little treasure Suri, Brad and Angelina's baby girl was called Shiloh Nouvel, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis' angel responds to Lily-Rose Melody, while for Kim Basinger Ireland is not just a country but also the name of her child...Bulgaria could benefit from this trend by giving ordinary people's funny names to politicians. Take Tarzan for example. So many of our lawmakers have the manners of the jungle hero. Or Dionis! A notable number of politicians are rumoured to have the same affinity for the divine drink. And not to mention those who would rather wear a mask and not show their true face, just like Zorro. Fun, right? All would be well until they take on names like Jesus and Christ, and start believing that they could do whatever they will!
