If we look at history, there are not many cases in which relations between Bulgaria and Russia at the state level were as bad as they are at the moment.

Sit back, relax, kick off your shoes, have a puff or two, a glass of beer in hand, music played background. This is how I pictured myself when my teachers at Sofia University opened my eyes for the potential of language learning through the Lozanov's method. Remember? The method that says it is of utmost importance that the student is comfortable, confident and relaxed. I am thinking I can recommend the method to those fifty thousand state administration employees that enthusiastically embraced the project for corruption prevention and combating through... CDs and self-training. The only problem I foresee is that this will be the first time that the method will be applied with the aim of non-learning, in other words learning to say "No" when offered straightforwardly money or more diplomatically expensive presents. Must be a tough learning process! Not only thanks to the eroded computer equipment and nearly total lack of computer skills at the State Administration Ministry. The training may nicely teach the employees many tricks of the art and show them the way to various loopholes. In the interests of cleaning up their conscience and securing our welfare I suggest that stronger measures be taken - namely stronger control on corrupt practices. Otherwise all the ten-fifteen- minute educational films can do is undermine Minister Vassilev's efforts and further wreck the public confidence in a service with serious duties.
