`By the end of the year all British American Tobacco brands imported for the Bulgarian market will carry labels in Bulgarian language`, BAT Bulgaria General Director Philippe Charles announced today. The health warning labels as well as the tar and nicotine delivery label are in compliance with the Regulation for tobacco product pack labeling. The Regulation is in effect as of 1 January 2001 with one-year grace period. It is only a part of BAT Bulgaria efforts to declare fair and honest presence on the Bulgarian market,” Charles added. British American Tobacco adds the label `Prohibited for sales to persons under 18 years of age`, which is not mandatory by law but is part of the company policy to prevent youth smoking. Currently Kent, Cartier Vendome and Rothmans labeled in Bulgarian are on the market. By end-2001 Bulgarian labels will be also carried by Lucky Strike, Dunhill and Kim. The Bulgarian subsidiary of British American Tobacco was established 8 years ago. The company is a leader in the field of imported international brands. British American Tobacco Bulgaria offers to the Bulgarian consumers original products only, fully compliant with the Bulgarian laws. BAT directly imports Lucky Strike and Kent from the USA, Rothmans and Dunhill from the UK, Cartier Vendome from Switzerland and Kim from Germany.
