Health: Sun Kills 60,000 Annually

Sun radiation causes 60,000 deaths every year, the World Health Organization has warned.

Of the 60,000 deaths, 48,000 are caused by malignant melanomas and 12,000 by other skin cancers, the report Global Burden of Disease of Solar Ultraviolet Radiation said as cited by the BBC.

According to experts, UVR-triggered diseases are almost entirely preventable through simple measures.

Spending time in the shade during the middle of the day, covering up and using sunscreen products are a must in order to minimize the health risk.
