Health: Indian Enjoys Skull-Off Life

An Indian man has lived on after a sizeable chunk of his skull fell off, world media broke.

Section of electrician Sambhu Roy's skull fell off on Sunday, months after he suffered an electric shock.

Severe burns caused his scalp to fall off, exposing the skull. Later, part of the bone started to loosen due to lack of blood supply to the affected area.

The doctor who treated Roy at a Calcutta hospital says he skull's inner covering and the membrane which helps produce bone were "miraculously unaffected", allowing fresh bone to grow, the BBC said.

They also reported of hundreds of people flocking to the hospital to see the survivor holding part of his skull bone in his hands.

Roy is expected to be completely cured in about three months.
