Taming of the Reckless

Nadya Dimitrova

Now, finally there is something I would like to congratulate Bulgaria's police for - the massive raids on the streets hunting for reckless drivers. If there is something Bulgaria is in urgent need for that is control and I mean strict control in every possible way! I know that traffic control is surely not the answer to all of our problems, but is going to at least save us a lot of troubles! "Deep" potholes, able to engulf an entire jeep, and mad traffic, are just a few of the memorable experiences Bulgaria offers. Because speeding cars, skipping the red light or forgetting that the pavement is actually meant for the pedestrians is no strange view in Bulgaria. Nor is the news that a pedestrian has been hit by a car and abandoned. Therefore I would like to take the opportunity and wish to the police officers all the best in making the first step to "taming" the reckless behaviour in Bulgaria.
