Three Bulgarian films will be shown at the Berlin International Film Festival that takes place from February 6 to February 17. Irina Aktasheva and Christo Piskov's "Ponedelnik Sutrin" (Monday Morning, 1966) and Metodi Andonov's "Byalata Staya" (The White Room, 1968) will be shown in the European 60s: Revolt, Fantasy and Utopia retrospective program. Ivan Pavlov's "Sudbata kato Pluh" (Fate as a Rat, 2001), also applying for this year's Oscar nominations for best foreign language film, will have four screenings at the International Forum of New Cinema - an independent section of the Berlin National Film Festival dedicated to innovative and experimental cinema. The retrospective programme of the Berlin International Film Festival will show 120 films of 24 countries. The fact that Bulgarian films have been included in this list is important recognition for the achievements of the Bulgarian cinema in the 60s, cinema.bg, an online Bulgarian film magazine writes.
