Bulgarian fans of Italy's pop star Eros Ramazzotti will have a hard time going to sleep Sunday night, knowing that their idol is already somewhere in Sofia.
Ramazzotti landed Sunday with his private jet and is already settled in one of the capital's hotels. Before his concert on Monday, he will meet Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev for a cup of coffee.
Stanishev has prepared a special gift for the Italian heartbreaker, reports say - a traditional Bulgarian souvenir. Ramazzotti will receive a shepherd's crook adorned with 16 traditional copper bells. Stanishev bought the present during his latest visit to Smolyan in the Rhodope region.
Ramazzotti has promised Sofia a night to remember with high-class pop and a unique multimedia show. Bulgaria's capital is just one of the stops of his European tour promoting his latest album "Calma Apparente". The 2005 piece has already gone platinum, thanks partly to the heartfelt "I Belong To You" with Anastacia.
Despite reports that Eros Ramazzotti would fight Sofia's summer heat with 100 kilograms of ice and "huge amounts" of light drinks and mineral water it looks like the ice is going to stay in the freezers. Anxiously eyeing the pouring skies, fans are now praying for a dry Monday evening.
