A 17-year-old charmer has become Bulgaria's new Rose Queen, celebrating a local festival dedicated to the fragrant flower.

Radosveta Dragieva shone brightest among 19 gals who were competing for the popular title. Her next challenge will be a beauty contest in China in early August.

Radosveta's crowning was part of the Rose Festival that blooms every year in Kazanlak, central Bulgaria, which is the country's best spot for rose growing.

It is Kazanlak to which Bulgaria owes its fame as producer of the world's best rose oil.
