Old Bulgarian traditions preach every start of a something must be paved by pure thoughts and clean deeds in order to secure success. A man rarely perceived as a politician is trying to scramble this idea moulding from a security guard into an opinion maker with a decisive say in current political matters. Boyko Borisov has seen his way into politics through the mayoral seat of Sofia - not so comfortable as it may seem at first sight, but indisputably a point of impact. In a typical manner of his, sackings and board directorship changes are pouring in since he stepped in, as if trying to convince people into the coming of "the iron hand". First the heating, then the sewage, lately the greenery bosses of Sofia saw themselves kicked out from their seats, and probably off to court. Putting more night lights on Sofia streets and planting in new trees should be taught to the overall mayoral governance of this city, rather than being riden for some kind of popularity or image puffing. But if greens would not die away, a clean-up should come in first place. A clean-up of own household, removal of the old and rusty stuff, uprooting malpractices, cleaning the soul and mind. Only then the new verdure will grow up durable.
