The traditional Spring Book Fair is welcoming guests and visitors free of charge on its first day, May 24, in Sofia's Palace of Culture.

Schoolchildren and students will be allowed to enter the fair without paying a BGN 1 ticket through the whole event, until Sunday.

Some 120 publishing houses from all over the country have exhibited under one roof newest and special-package titles.

The organisers from the Association of the Bulgarian Publishers is to award the Bronze Lion statuette to the publisher whose book proved to be the biggest success on the market.

This year the Spring Book Fair, the largest in the country, celebrates its 25th anniversary, along with its hosts - the National Palace of Culture. It is expected to contribute to the series of reading-promotion campaigns that have opened since the beginning of 2006.
