An ex Bulgarian MP from the 37th National Assembly is being probed for embezzlement.

The Regional Court in Isperih ruled that a bail of BGN 750 should be paid for the release of Penko Ganev. The investigation against him was launched back in 2003, but was halted as the ex MP had no official address.

His location was found last week and the trial was opened anew.

The ex MP might receive up to 8 years. The local prosecutor's office did not announce the amount of the misused funds, but explained that Ganev committed the crime while managing a gas station in Isperih.
