Busta Rhymes, set to become the biggest hip-hop megastar with a live show in Bulgaria, will stage his concert in the capital on June 20, organizers announced.
The announcement came to deny earlier local reports which said the famous rapper would perform in Stara Zagora, central Bulgaria, on June 13.
The concert of the multi-platinum recording artist will be part of Sofia's Hip Hop Festival, featuring also Upsurt, DRS+, Spens, Skopie via Sofia, DJ Stancho и DJ Tony G, Break Atraction, Electric Force. It is scheduled to come days after the release of Busta's Aftermath Entertainment debut, "The Big Bang," on June 13, 2006.
Busta - whose most popular hits include "Turn It Up/ Fire It Up", "Gimme Some More" and "Woo Haa!! Got You All in Check" - has also made it big with his music collaborations with top artists on the rap and soul scene.
Recently, he topped charts after teaming up with Mariah Carey for "I Know What You Want" and took the lead in a pack of nominees for the sixth annual BET Awards. The new album, his first in three years, showcases a combination of two of the most dynamic, creative forces in hip-hop music as Busta Rhymes teams with super-producer and Aftermath chief, Dr. Dre.
Busta's gig would be one more addition to the mega-concert series in Bulgaria this summer.
Some ten days earlier, Sting will perform in seaside Nessebar, while new wave stars Depeche Mode will stage a performance in Sofia on June 21.
Fans of the melodic Italian pop-rock will have a dream come true on July 3, when macho Eros Ramazzotti's multimedia live show will set Sofia on fire.
