US Ambassador to Bulgaria John Beyrle and Russia's envoy Anatolii Potapov attended the exhilarating production of the renowned Red Army Ensemble in Sofia.

Made up of a sparkling line-up of Russian singers, dancers and instrumentalists, the ensemble arrived in Bulgaria after a visit to Morocco at the invitation of the royal family.

Years after the end of the Cold War the Red Army ensemble has turned into a major attraction in both Europe and the United States.

Its extravagancy lies partly in the authenticity of the costumes - military with red stars, its wide and rich repertoire of songs and dances, which includes folklore songs, classic works by Russian and foreign composers.
