Bulgarians Busted with Heroin in Croatia

Crime | April 24, 2006, Monday // 00:00

Croatian customs officers caught two Bulgarian nationals with 30 kilos of heroin in their car on Sunday, media reported.

The drugs are worth about EUR 1.5 M and were discovered in the back of an Opel Zafira coming from Serbia and Montenegro into Croatia. Officials believe that they had cracked a Balkan drug channel leading to Western European countries.

The amount of heroin busted is a record for Croatia's customs officers, reports claim.
