Late Bulgarian rock legend Georgi Minchev will once again be commemorated in the "Flower for Gosho" rock festival in Sofia.

Held for the sixth time, the festival has become the traditional annual event where rock bands from all over the country gather with fans to remember Minchev and pay a tribute to his work. This year's edition will take place from May 5 to May 7 in Sofia's South Park. Each concert will start about four in the afternoon and finish long after sunset.


Bands that once shared the stage with Minchev will now team up with younger musicians who were inspired by his work. Each band will sing at least one of his songs, and will also perform some of their own music. Vasko Krapkata, Barabi Blues Band, B.T.R., Epizod, Roberta, Ahat, Monolit, and Balkandzhi are just some of those willing to take the stage in tribute to Minchev's timeless work. Minchev's last band Stari Mutzuni will also play a couple of tracks for the fans.

The "Flower for Gosho" fest first took place several days after Minchev passed away in February of 2001 and has been a tradition ever since. Choosing the South Park to hold the venue is no coincidence either, for Minchev admitted in one of his last interviews that he loved being in fresh air among free-minded people.
