Sofia mayor Boyko Borisov and Zoya Paunova, Executive Director of AstraZeneca Bulgaria made a wonderful present to the Bulgarian children ahead of the colorful Palm Sunday (Tsvetnitsa).

Mayor Borissov and Zoya Paunova cut the red ribbon of the new children's playground in Sofia's Zoo. The official opening coincided with the Day of the adopter, annually marked at the zoo as a day dedicated to the people, who take care of animals from the zoo.

The idea and the money for the project came from pharmaceutical leader AstraZeneca, which has been involved in other charity projects in the country as well. AstraZeneca Bulgaria invested in the project BGN 20,000.

"The care for our children will remain our priority and shared responsibility. Over the last ten years we have been successfully combining the responsibilities of the business world and the corporate social responsibility, which has always been a part of our philosophy," Zoya Paunova said.

In October 2005 another AstraZeneka playground was opened at Sofia's high-class Alexandrovska Hospital.
