Pop-folk macho Konstantin triumphed over Miss Bulgaria 1999 in the final of the VIP Brother reality show, a clash anticipated with great eagerness by the audience.

The happy winner, who pockets BNG 50 000, treated himself with alcohol before stepping out of the house, and gave his first winner's interview apparently tipsy.

Konstantin had entered the show with his girlfriend and stage partner Rayna, who was kicked out at an early stage by voters.

Temperamental Rayna had showered her boyfriend with criticism and often shouted at him during her stay in the show. That seemed to provoke much sympathy for Konstantin, who earned an image of the more balanced and sensible side in the love-and-singing couple.

That was Bulgaria's first season of VIP Brother, which brought together celebs from different walks of the entertainment life.

Among the participants there were an opera diva, a writer, a homosexual former monk, a candidate for Bulgarian President, pop stars, as well as Miss Bulgaria 1999 Violeta Zdravkova and her daughter at the age of three, Danaya.

So far, Bulgaria has watched four major reality shows - two seasons of Big Brother, one VIP Brother and a Star Academy.

All winners have been men.
