Bulgarian Police Crash Prostitution Ring

A criminal group forcing young ladies to prostitute has been crashed in a specialized police operation by the Vratsa police department, northwestern Bulgaria.


The gang dealing with trade in fake alcohol, illegal arms possession was arrested in the Voivodino village near Vratsa.

During the police operation five girls aged 15 to 17 working as prostitutes have been detained. It was later found out that the girls have been forced to prostitute after physical harassment. Two of the girls have been taken back to their families and the other three are under police protection after they agreed to testify against the criminals.

Police found a machine gun and two pistols as well as nearly EUR 12,000 during the operation. Five people have been arrested over the case.
