EU Safeguard Clauses for Bulgaria Decided in October

The European Union will decide whether to impose safeguard clauses on Bulgaria's accession in October, Agriculture Minister Nihat Kabil has said.

This is when the final European Commission report on the country's readiness to join the EU should be ready.


At present there is no need of demonizing these safegueard clauses and consider that everything has been decided, Kabil added. The EC comprehensive report coming up in May would be a lot more favorable on the "Agriculture" and "Fishing" negotiation chapters than it was last October, the minister expects.
