A web site ranked world's top ten impostors in history.

The first place in the ranking of 2Spare.com is occupied by Victor Lustig, the man who sold the Eiffel Tower and convinced Al Capone to invest USD 40,000 in a stock deal.

Frank Abagnale, is the person who inspired the movie "Catch me if you can". Over 5 years he worked under 8 identities, although he used many more to cash checks, and passed bad checks worth over USD 2,5 M in 26 countries. Therefore Frank Abagnale comes second in the 2Spare ranking.

Christopher Rocancourt, the French Rockefeller is third. The fourth place is for Ferdinand Demara known as "the Great Impostor", who masqueraded as many people from monks to surgeons to prison wardens.

The list also includes David Hampton a con artist, who was unable to gain entry at Studio 54, therefore he assumed the identity of Sidney Poitier's son and was suddenly ushered in as celebrity.

Milli Vanilli, the pop duo composed of Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. They gained worldwide success and won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1990. But in the same year, during a "live" performance recorded by MTV the truth emerged. The Milli Vanilli sound was actually created by Frank Farian featuring the vocal talents of other singers.

The other names on the list include Cassie Chadwick, the illegal daughter of Andrew Carnegie, Mary Baker, "the Princess Caraboo from the island of Javasu", Wilhelm Voigt, the amusing Captain of Kopenick and George Psalmanazar, who claimed to be first man from the faraway island Formosa to visit Europe.
