Bucharest should help Sofia in fight against organized crime, because if Bulgaria fails to solve its problems with crime the situation in the region might decline.
That was stated by Erhard Busek, the special coordinator of the Stability Pact for South East Europe as cited by Romanian Adevarul newspaper.
Busek is in Romania for the meeting of the prime ministers from countries of Southeastern Europe that are to discuss the strengthening of the role of Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).
Busek has highly evaluated Romania's progress in fight against crime and corruption. In his words Bucharest has done well by not denying its problems in these areas and opened a public discussion for them.
