Bulgarian journalist Vassil Ivanov, whose house was targeted by a bomb early Thursday morning, has said that suspects which of his investigations could have caused the violent act.
The police, however, have advised him not to speak out on the matter, so he wouldn't obstruct the investigation, he explained for private Darik radio.
Ivanov, who works for private Nova TV met Thursday Interior Minister Rumen Petkov, the ministry's Secretary General Iliya Iliev, and Sofia's police head Rumen Stoyanov. In the meantime Bulgaria's Parliament called for a report from Petkov on the development of the investigation.
The bomb that went off around 3 in the morning was made with about 0.5 kilos of explosives. Ivanov claimed that this was not a simple threat, it was an attempt on his life.
Ivanov is author of some of the most scandalous investigations of Nova TV. He recently made reportage for the violations of human rights in Sofia prison, which resulted in massive checks in the jail system and several dismissals. He also made an investigation into the work of lawyer, who illegally sold the car of Bulgaria's ex top prosecutor and the president.
